The Four Colnes Horticultural Society has been part of the Colne Valley community since 1880.
The Society meet once a quarter to discuss up and coming events, trips and visiting speakers. The committee run the annual Four Colnes Show which takes place at The Earls Colne Recreation Club; a wonderful event that draws people from all the surrounding villages with many stalls, competitions and fun to be had. |

The Four Colnes show usually takes place annually at the Earls Colne Recreation Club.
There are competitions, stalls and fun activities for all the family. However due to the difficulties of organising such an event during this pandemic, sadly we are unable to hold it this year.
The draft show schedule, already circulated to Society Members, will form the basis of the schedule for the 2021 show. If you have made crafts/ art/ taken photographs etc with a view to entering them you will still be able to exhibit them in 2021, all being well of course.
Whilst we cannot get together to see the wonderful exhibits that we are privileged to normally have entered into the FC Show, we hope that members and the community will send us digital photos of their 'best' homegrown fruit, veg and flowers.
We understand that during the 'lockdown' many people have had more time to tend their gardens, pot plants & containers as well as undertake craft projects and cookery.
Please also email us your photographs of anything that you are particularly pleased you have created.
All photos of your entries to be emailed to
info@fourcolneshorticulturalsociety.com.
We will post them anonymously on our facebook page and website for others to enjoy (the committee reserve the right to not publish any photos eg if they breach the GDPR.)
No formal classes, it's just for fun, but please send as many images as you like of your flowers, fruit and vegetables and lockdown creations before Show day, 8th August.
Photograph your Flowers (of a single type) in a vase.
Fruit and Vegetables again just one type on a dinner plate.
The committee will review all photos sent and choose their favourites based on the standard of the produce or creation, not the quality of the photograph!
You too can choose your favourite, by 'liking' it on Facebook.
The Committees favourites will be announced on the facebook page on August 15th.
We do understand that not everyone has access to digital technology but we felt it was better to be able to share some of the 'Show' experience in this way than to do nothing at all.
