Growing in the Colne Valley

Where Events are Planned
All the outing prices include the coach fare, the entry unless otherwise indicated and a gratuity for the coach driver.  Tickets must be paid six week in advance of the trip to secure the booking.
All outings will assume you cater for your own meals unless specifically stated otherwise.
Priority will be give to fully paid up FCHS members.  Non-members will be welcome if there is room.

Four Colnes Show 
Earls Colne Recreation Club August 19th - Free Entry.
Grounds, bar and outside events open from 11am. Exhibition Hall opens to view from 1.30pm approx​
Entrants in Fruit & Vegetables (section A of the Schedule) and Flower Classes (section D of the Schedule) can collect a £10 Kings Seed voucher, redeemable at Olivers Plants, at the end of the show.

National Garden Scheme, SNARES HILL COTTAGE, Duck End, Stebbing CM6 3RY, Friday 30th June 2023, 2pm £8pp including tea/coffee & cake. Own transport required.  Please indicate if you need a lift or could offer a lift. This quirky garden has featured on Gardeners World and in various magazines. It is only open to the public a few days a year and we will have exclusive entry as a group. Booking Form below
​Zoom into vegetable growing? Bruce Ronaldson, an experienced local vegetable grower and educationalist is keen to give friendly advice to those wishing to ‘Get into Growing’ vegetables. He is offering free support, probably over the medium of Zoom, but possibly face to face depending on what is going to work for those who wish to learn. He has suggested that anyone who is interested or wants to find out more contact him preferably by email on bruce.ronaldson@btinternet.com

Sow and Tell is back! We invite members to open their gardens to other Society members (and tell us about them if theywant to!) You can provide simple refreshments if you’d like and any costs can be reimbursed. It’s all very informal, so please give it some consideration.
